My outfit design is for a male presenting Angel whose area of entry is South Asia, somewhere along western India (depending on where they eventually land).
As there are established 4 seasons on Earth (all depending on it’s rotation, the position of the Northern Hemisphere and all those nice, predictable things), the outfit I choose shifts towards the expected winter-casual side. However, there wasn’t exactly a memo given about the recent changes due to Climate Change and rapid effects of Global Warming. So in reality around this time, the Sun doesn’t deem it fit to leave just yet. Hence the winter theme is out of sync from the start.
For footwear, a type of crocs are usually preferred but I choose one that could also double as formal wear and thus lessen the need to buy or miracle up more shoes. And in my humble opinion they were the least unsightly ones I could find. For the socks, since it must be known that socks are notorious for getting lost every now and then, and that it is a Completely Common and Normal Occurrence for the humans; to match, the Angel essentially decided to mis-match. And randomness means, well, random pairing. Now, human autonomy dictates that the tips of their fingers, ears, noses and feet are much more susceptible to the cold so proper covering up is required. Practicality seems to have worked for the humans living here so more than one layer is quite the norm. So I choose a simple shirt and trousers coupled with a specific pair of mittens whose design would be found on most winter clothing at a quick glance (Angel’s know who Mr. Sander’s is, right?).
Wrapping a thick shawl around oneself is also not out of the ordinary, however bundled together with the apparel above, a Very In Style scarf and a traditional Pakol Hat, would make one indefinitely look like a waddling teddy bear. At least it would be as non-threatening as a non-human could get.
Lastly, in accordance with the rules of the ongoing Pandemic, a mask is an added part of any Angelic outfit to not only set a good example, but to also avoid upsetting the other humans. A simple plain white mask is the usual go-to but to make it even less conspicuous, there are added images on it. Ducklings are known to be innocent creatures and may make other humans more inclined to listen to the Angel’s guidance. The halo, while a little on the nose, simply acts as a reminder of an Angel’s true status. All in all, it would clash horribly with the tones on the rest of the clothing but I’m pretty sure people would overlook that. (Probably).
