For those of you that have been with The Ineffable Con for a while, you’ll know it’s a tradition to celebrate Earth’s Birthday – in fact, it’s been the date of four of the six TICs! We will be hosting an Earth’s Birthday celebration to create a little let-there-be-light for the fandom, with free tickets available, although donations to Alzheimer’s Research UK are welcome.

The year, we’ll be having an online event on Saturday 25th October from 19:00 BST to 00:00 BST, including a quiz with Ella (AppleSeeds) and Dreams of Alexandria, and games like Gartic Phone, Cards Against Armageddon, and more. Don’t worry if you’ve not played before – plenty of people on hand to help – and if games aren’t your thing, there’ll be chatrooms for voice and text, too.

If you would like to run a game, host a chat room or more, please visit the sign up sheet or get in touch!

Some points to note:

• Once you register for the event you’ll receive the Zoom link. You’ll also be able to find this information on the TIC website, via Account –> My Orders
• Please update your Zoom before attending to fully participate and to be able to move yourself between breakout rooms.
• Please note that our code of conduct applies, and we will remove anyone who breaches it.
• You can come and go as you like during the hours that the party is on: don’t worry if you can’t be there from the beginning.
• Some games may be easier to join in with if you have a second device, such as a phone, to play on.
• There will also be plenty of spare breakout rooms to chat with fellow fans (including a text only chat) or play impromptu games.
• You don’t have to turn on your camera and/or microphone if you don’t want to, and please respect everyone else’s choice in that regard.
• Any other questions, please email us at info@infotheineffablecon.org.uk

As always, our events are hosted to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK in memory of Sir Terry Pratchett. We are hosting Earth’s Birthday free of charge to make it accessible to all, but, if you are in a position to make a donation, please choose to pay for your ticket, or you can donate at any time using our JustGiving page, M2025: Hail the Great Beast!, with our thanks.
