Welcome to Purgatory…

On Saturday 8th August, The Ineffable Con would like to welcome you to our Purgatory Party, celebrating 66ish days until The Ineffable Con 2!

By popular request, we will be kicking off with a quiz and a game of bingo. Some old favourites, as well as some new games, will then be available to play in breakout rooms throughout the evening, as well as spaces to listen to fic readings and chat.

We will make everyone co-hosts after the quiz and bingo. A quirk of Zoom is that co-hosts cannot play bingo; we will have a note on screen from 20:00 BST asking anyone who does not want to join the quiz or bingo to raise their hand (using the button on the Zoom menu). We will make those people co-hosts first; everyone else will be made a co-host at the end of the bingo game.

Once you have been made a co-host, you will need to accept the invitation to join one (randomly allocated) breakout room; once you have done that, clicking on the “breakout rooms” button will enable you to see the full list of rooms and move freely between them. Please don’t worry if it’s your first time with us – everything will be explained as we go!

You can join through a web browser or on mobile, but we recommend being on a computer or laptop and downloading the software for full functionality, including the ability to move between breakout rooms. If this isn’t possible for you, you can still join in, you’ll just have to ask us to move you around..

We’re hosting this event free of charge, but if you would like to donate to The Ineffable Con’s Tickety Boo Scheme, to help those in need of financial assistance to attend The Ineffable Con 2, you can find out more and do so on our website. Any funds not used for providing assistance with tickets will be donated to Alzheimer’s Research UK in memory of Sir Terry Pratchett.
