- WHY THESE TERMS EXIST
We are a small fan community and hope that everyone will get along in good faith, but the truth of the matter is: accidents and mistakes happen, tempers flare, and in the end we all wish that we had a set of rules that would help us handle a hairy situation. We’re sure you understand and respect that. - ACCEPTING THESE TERMS
These Terms and Conditions (“the terms” for short) are a legally binding contract between you and The Ineffable Con and its representatives, Rachael Livermore and Bethany Windsor. You must accept them in order to register for any events run by The Ineffable Con. - YOUR PRIVACY
Your personal details will not be shared with any third parties unless that is necessary for the running of our events. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details. - GENERAL RULES
4.1 AGE LIMIT
4.1.1 You must be at least 13 years old to purchase a membership of the convention.
4.1.2 If you’re younger than 13, you may have a parent or guardian purchase a membership on your behalf; under UK law we just need their permission to hold your information.4.2 MISCELLANEOUS
4.2.1 The name you give with your registration does not have to be your legal name; you are welcome to give another name that you use in fandom spaces. Please choose a name that is not offensive (i.e. racist, ableist, etc.) or vulgar. If you’re worried that your usual username might be any of those things, feel free to contact us before booking.4.3 CODE OF CONDUCT
We believe that all spaces, physical and online, should be free from harassment, bullying and hate. Everyone that participates in The Ineffable Con has a responsibility to help us to achieve this. Everyone – co-hosts, special guests, panellists, volunteers and members – are required to agree to the following code of conduct:4.3.1 We do not tolerate harassment in any form. This includes, but is not limited to, verbal or written comments related to people’s characteristics or beliefs, targeted misgendering, deliberate intimidation, photography or recording without consent, sustained disruptive behaviour and unwelcome attention.
4.3.2 Sexual language and imagery must be kept to spaces designated as “NSFW” – “not safe for work”, i.e. “explicit”. Booths, panels and shared spaces that have not requested this designation, and all participants therein, must only share content suitable for all ages.
4.3.3 All attendees must be respectful of other’s privacy. Screen shots without the permission of everyone present should not be taken and, when asking for permission, the purpose of the screen shot should be made clear (e.g. sharing on social media).
4.3.4 No part of any Ineffable Con events should be recorded by anyone other than the event organisers.
4.3.5 Please be aware that conduct that is not intended as harassment could be received as such. What one person sees as a friendly debate or mutually enjoyable joke might be unwelcome to the recipient. If asked to stop what you are doing, you must respect that request and disengage. If the conduct persists when the target has asked for it to cease, it becomes harassment regardless of the intention. If you see a breach of the code of conduct, or notice someone else falling victim to a code of conduct breach, please contact info@theineffablecon.org.uk immediately. We will work with you to find a resolution that enables you to feel safe and maintains the safety and enjoyment of the wider convention membership. All details will be kept confidential on a need-to-know basis.
Participants asked to stop behaviour that falls into the above categories are expected to comply immediately. Violation of these terms may result in an immediate exclusion and ban from the event. The convention co-chairs’ decision regarding any violation of these terms is final.
- CANCELLATION POLICY
All convention memberships are non-refundable, but can be transferred. To transfer your membership, let us know the name and email address of the person you wish to transfer it to. - SPECIAL GUESTS
We only advertise special guest appearances with written permission from the guest; however, all appearances are tentative and are subject to change if work demands conflict with the convention. In the event of a guest cancellation, The Ineffable Con is not responsible for any refunds.
Please do not attend for just one guest. The Ineffable Con is a celebration of Good Omens in all its incarnations, and of its fandom. - THE INEFFABLE CON MERCHANDISE
Convention merchandise is supplied and dispatched by Inkthreadable and is subject to their terms of use. - EXHIBITOR BOOTHS
The Ineffable Con provides space for attendees to exhibit their work and sell products to attendees, but is not responsible for the content of exhibitor booths. We reserve the right to remove any booths containing illegal or offensive content, or which bring the event into disrepute.
Material of a sexually explicit nature is permitted, but the booth must be clearly marked as containing adult content and the logo visible on the main exhibitor page must not contain any explicit content. - DISPUTES WITH THE INEFFABLE CON
